Steve Handley
Stephen "Steve" James Handley (born 28 June 1956) is an Australian former national champion and Olympic-level rower. ==Rowing career==
Handley commenced rowing whilst a student at Newington College (1969–1974)〔Newington College Register of Past Students 1863-1998 (Syd, 1999) pp 181〕 and has since rowed at Sydney Rowing Club. In 1974 Handley won a NSW state title in the Youth four, won the Australian Schoolboy four Championship and represented NSW in the Colts Eight (U23) in a tour to New Zealand. He has won numerous State Championships (including the Champion VIII of NSW five times for Sydney Rowing club) and Australian Championships in the coxed pair, coxed four and eights. Between 1974 and 1980, he won 13 National Championships and two Kings Cups. He represented Australia in the World Rowing Championships in 1977 (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) and again in 1978 (Lake Karapiro, New Zealand). In 1980, he was in the Australian eight at the Moscow Olympics and the crew came 5th.
